Professorial Annual Review
Following the pause in senior reward processes, the Professorial Annual Review has returned for 2025. Although the process itself is similar to previous years, there is no longer a requirement for all Professors to submit every year. Professors are only asked to submit an Annual Review when seeking a review of their zone and/or a salary adjustment. Professors who are not seeking any adjustment are not required to submit. Colleagues wishing to discuss their performance should do so with their relevant line manager or Head of School. The main reason for the change is that it can take longer than a year to make sufficient progress to meet the criteria for a salary adjustment and an annual review in some cases may create an unnecessary burden of work.
In 2025, the Annual Review may include a summary of achievements and activities for the previous 24-month period (Jan 2023-Dec 2024) to include significant achievements during the period when the process was suspended. All completed forms will be reviewed by the Head of School and considered by the Professorial Advisory Group.
Professorial colleagues in Zone 1 are normally expected to make steady incremental progress through the zone and are therefore encouraged to submit every year. Colleagues in other Professorial zones should consider whether they have a suitable case for salary adjustment and discuss with their Head of School as appropriate. Colleagues within the first 12 months of their appointment to a Professorial role are not normally eligible for a salary adjustment and would not be expected to make a submission.
The form must be submitted to your Head of School no later than 6th February 2025.
Please ensure that your publications record is up to date on CentAUR before commencing the form, as any subsequent changes will not be updated. Please note, it can take up to ten working days for an item to be made live in CentAUR after they are deposited.
