Guidance for applicants

Please make sure you check the following before you register for TEEP:

  1. Check that the university you are applying to accepts TEEP results as evidence of academic English language proficiency. TEEP is accepted for direct entry to undergraduate and postgraduate level programmes at the University of Reading, as well as a number of other UK universities. However, the certificate cannot be used for UK student visa applications when a SELT is required.
  2. Check the test dates and make sure you are available to take all parts of the test. Please note that the TEEP speaking test may take place on a different day from the other parts of the test.
  3. Make sure that you have the equipment required for taking the online test. Visit our Prepare for TEEP page for details.
  4. Make sure that you have a valid passport or other photo ID, as you will be required to show it at the start of the test for identification purposes.

Online TEEP dates

TEEP is offered on specific dates and is not available on demand.

The written and oral components are scheduled on separate days to accommodate candidates in different time zones, ensuring they can take the test at a reasonable hour.. You are required to take all test parts in order to receive a certificate.

Please note that all of the test times are given in the UK time zone. You can use this time zone converter to check the time in your location.

We will confirm upcoming test dates soon. The link to apply will be added to this page when available.
