Research and scholarship
The Global Study Lounge hosts events for University of Reading research and scholarship groups, helping them share their work with colleagues and students. See the video below for a snapshot of how Reading's work around Climate Change is taking action to build a better global future for everyone.
Groups whose work is particularly relevant to the Global Study Lounge include:
- Language and Teaching Research Forum (LTRF) - International Study and Language Institute (ISLI). The LTRF is ISLI's forum for the dissemination of best practice, scholarship, and research in language and language teaching, with a specific focus on English for Academic Purposes and its associated fields, and teaching and learning in Foundation Studies. LTRF Coordinator: Dr Karin Whiteside.
- Applied Linguistics Research Circle (ALRC) - Department of English Language and Applied Linguistics (DELAL). ALRC Weekly Talks feature a range of scholars from world-renowned professors to postgraduate students sharing their work. These talks are open to all students and staff as well as interested parties from outside the University. They offer a great chance to discuss and debate contemporary issues with leading figures in the field of Applied Linguistics. ALRC Coordinator: Professor Rodney Jones.
