Your Trans Students' Get Together is led by your Trans Students' Part-Time Officer Violet. This is a space for Trans students to network and connect, share any thoughts or concerns you have about starting University, meet your PTO, and get to know what we do at Reading Students' Union.
Get Togethers are free to attend.
Reading Students’ Union defines a trans student as a student who does not identify with their gender assigned at birth, this includes students who identify as trans men, trans women, trans non-binary, non-binary, and other genderqueer identities.
We also recognise that some non-binary students identify with being trans too. Reading Students’ Union defines a non-binary student as someone whose gender identity is not simply male or female. Other terms which may be used can include people who identify as genderqueer, gender fluid, agender, bigender and more. These terms do not all mean the same thing but all help describe the experience of people who do not identify as simply male or female.
