Booking and contact information
Booking the Global Study Lounge and the Study Pods
To book the Global Study Lounge for a class or event, email isli-admin@reading.ac.uk.
The space is bookable in any of the following 5 formats:
- the whole Global Study Lounge (Exclusive Use).
- the whole Global Study Lounge, excluding the 3 pods (Simultaneous Use).
- each pod individually (Pod 1, Pod 2, and Pod3).
There is also a social student area, which can be used as a waiting area for pod activity. It has a capacity of 10-12.
Student pod bookings are for a maximum of 2 hours and for up to 8 students, depending on the pod. This helps ensure fair use of the bookable spaces.
Booking a space
When making your booking via isli-admin@reading.ac.uk please include the following information:
- Event Name:
- Date:
- Time:
- Contact(s): i.e., who will be linked to and responsible for the booking and space.
- Use: Please indicate the section(s) you wish to book from those outlined above.
Booking Capacities
Total capacity for the whole Global Study Lounge is for 70 participants.
The Global Study Lounge has three main zones (NB: numbers below depending on how the space is being used):
- A group desk area for up to 40 - 50 participants.
- A social area with coffee-shop and lounge-style soft seating for up to 25 participants.
- X3 bookable study pod areas for 6-10 participants in each pod, depending on the pod size.
Technology in the Global Study Lounge
The following tech is available in the Global Study Lounge.

- X1 Avocor touchable 75" screen
- X1 75" display screen
- X1 OWL device for hybrid activity
- X1 student printing station (TBC)
- X1 printer and photocopier
Pod 1 and Pod 2
- 32" display screen
- multi-connector for devices
Pod 3
- 43" display screen
- multi-connector for devices
