Areas of interest
My research interests focus on both film and television, combining industrial analysis with close textual analysis. My work has a particular focus on youth and female representation in film and television, feminist media studies, streaming platforms, bodies and landscapes, and both UK and US television industries. My recent work includes articles on Netflix's close address in Fleabag and Chewing Gum, and the use of Yorkshire landscapes in Sally Wainwright's television programmes. I am currently working on a monograph on television period drama for Edinburgh University Press.Postgraduate supervision
