Research projects
Dr Wei is an author and co-author of over 100 academic papers and 3 textbooks. She has been involved in various research projects in the area of computer vision and image analysis, such as optical character recognition, criminal events detection, automated border control, and remote sensing for environmental monitoring and precision agriculture. She has been supervising PhD students in these projects.
Background
Dr Hong Wei had her first and master degrees in Tianjin University, China and her PhD degree in Birmingham University, UK. She worked on a few projects as a postdoc researcher before she joined in the University of Reading (UoR) in 2000. Since then, Dr Wei has been working in the UoR as lecturer and then associated professor.
