MSc Data Science and Advanced Computing

This master's course is designed for graduates of computing and related subjects, who have some experience of programming, as well as IT professionals and data analysts who aspire to become data scientists.

This course is accredited by the British Computer Society (BCS) – the Chartered Institute for IT. Many companies provide input into our course, ensuring the skills you learn are relevant to the IT industry.

MSc Climate Change and Artificial Intelligence (AI)

This unique course, led by the Department of Meteorology, is designed to address the growing demand for people who have the scientific understanding of our changing climate and artificial intelligence, together with the business acumen to deploy that understanding effectively.

Fees, funding and scholarships

A variety of funding support is available to our master’s students.

UK students can receive government loans to help towards tuition fees and living costs. You may also be eligible for other grants and bursaries.

Both UK and international students can apply for scholarships, which are awarded based on previous academic achievement.

Your career

Reading is at the centre of a major high-technology hub, with companies including Microsoft, Oracle, Cisco Systems, Hewlett Packard (HP) and Intel located within a few miles of our campus.

 

Many of our graduates start new careers in IT, finance or government, while others advance their existing careers in these areas. Some have gone on to work for multinational companies and consultancies, or have continued their research at Reading or other institutions around the world.
