Display policy
The LRC seeks neither to endorse nor to censor any material, and takes no political or religious stance as a University service. We operate a strict display policy and review carefully all requests for use of LRC space with the interests and potential sensitivities of our very wide range of users in mind.
Please note also that suitable space for display of posters and other materials is very limited.
Where and what?
A noticeboard area is available near the staircase.
To ensure the orderly dissemination of information and to maintain the integrity of our academic environment, the following guidelines are to be adhered to without exception:
- Mandatory Approval: All individuals or groups wishing to post notices, including but not limited to solicitations for test subjects for projects, surveys, assignments, theses, etc., must obtain prior approval from their respective schools or supervisors. Societies or clubs intending to promote activities must secure approval from the Student Welfare and Academic Services (SWAS). Proof of approval (official stamp and signature) must be verified by the LRC staff before any notice is considered for display.
- Duration of Display: Notices are permitted to remain posted for a maximum of two weeks only. Post the expiration of this period, notices will be removed without prior notification. This policy is to ensure equitable access to posting space for all university constituents.
- Unauthorized Notices: Any notices found displayed without the requisite approvals will be removed and destroyed immediately. This measure is non-negotiable and will be strictly enforced to prevent clutter and unauthorized solicitations.
- Relevance to University Activities: All notices must pertain strictly to activities associated with or related to the University. Non-compliance with this rule will result in immediate rejection of the notice.
- Space Limitation and Paper Size: Due to limited space, notice posting will operate on a first-come, first-served basis. To maximize visibility and fairness, notices are restricted to sizes A4 or A3 only. Oversized notices or those not conforming to these dimensions will not be accommodated.
This policy is instituted to foster an organized, respectful, and academically conducive environment within the University Library. Your full compliance is expected and appreciated. Non-adherence to these guidelines will not be tolerated and may result in further restrictions on your privileges concerning the use of library resources and facilities.
