My research focuses on transgression and desire in modern and contemporary fiction and poetry. My approach is mostly practice-based. I have written three books (fiction and poetry) themed around [queer] desire (s) and otherness. My first book of poems was published in 2017, my second book The Ministry of Guidance and other stories was published in 2020, and was shortlisted for the Polari Prize 2021. My poetry collection ROCKSONG was published by Verve Poetry Press in October 2021. In my books, I have explored the fluidity of gender and sexuality, and I have portrayed bisexual and homosexual desire (s) as acts of transgression and rebellion. I have also written on the effects of border politics and religious indoctrination on mental health. Currently, I’m working on a short story collection, which explores the possibilities of queer desire (s) within capitalist structures. In 2020, I designed and hosted a literature programme for Soho Radio Culture and appeared on the BBC Cultural Frontline and Woman’s Hour to discuss my writing.Teaching
