JEM 2100 plus TEM
Installed in February 2017, the JEOL 2100Plus is a state-of-the-art 200kV transmission electron microscope. As well as operating in conventional TEM mode, this instrument has the capability of carrying out electron tomography, a technique for imaging three-dimensional structures by recording a large series of images at a range of tilt angles. Cryo-TEM can also be carried out on this microscope, enabling biological specimens to be imaged in close to their natural state. The microscope is also equipped with a scanning unit, enabling STEM imaging to be carried out.
