Study BSc Business Economics and Trade with the NUIST-Reading Academy

The Department of Economics at the University of Reading offers a BSc Business Economics and Trade degree in partnership with the University of Information Science and Technology (NUIST) in China.

As part of your degree, you can choose to study at the University of Reading for your final year. Students who successfully complete the partnership programme will be awarded a dual-degree from the University of Reading and NUIST.

On this programme, you'll adopt a technical approach by focusing on principles of economic analysis and accompanying quantitative methods. You will acquire a thorough knowledge and appreciation of core economic theory and its uses and applications, especially in a business and trade environment.

Programme structure

Students who successfully complete the first three years at NUIST on the BSc International Economics and Trade programme can transfer to the University of Reading in their final year and study BSc Business Economics and Trade.

Being a final year student at the University of Reading gives you a greater variety of optional modules to choose from, allowing you to shape your degree to suit your interests. These could include topics such as:

  • Behavioural Economics
  • Financial Economics
  • International Economics
  • Public Economics
  • Money and Banking
  • Economics of Labour.

Entry requirements

  • Meet the requirements of the NUIST admission criteria.
  • Obtain an overall average mark of 70% on all compulsory modules in Years 1, 2 and 3, with no individual module mark below 60 to progress on to Year 4 (Part 3) in Reading.
  • Reach level 6.5 in the IELTS or TEEP English Language test.
