Going into the professional world can be daunting, but for Jasroop, her placement year was a reassuring learning experience thanks to the constant support she received from the University and the team she was working with.

Jasroop is a recent Biomedical Sciences with Professional Experience graduate. By choosing to take a year in industry Jasroop got the opportunity to work with Cancer Research UK & UCL Cancer Trials Centre as a trials assistant after her second year.
“This placement has been an invaluable and exciting experience, both academically and professionally, I have become more independent and confident. I have gained an array of skills and knowledge that has helped me immensely for my final year and for job interviews.”
She emphasised the importance of certain skills, such as organisational skills, effective communication, and time management that helped her immensely, especially when she was completing her final year research project, where she achieved a final mark of 83%.
