Recruitment and Selection of Research Staff
Our policies and practices provide for open, transparent and merit-based recruitment, and it is essential that you follow these. Key points to note are:
- To initiate the process, you need to submit a Staffing Request Form,
- In order to chair the selection panel, you need to have undertaken the required recruitment and selection and unconscious bias training before advertising the role,
- All posts (even personal fellowships) require a job description (HR can supply a template)
- All posts of one year or more (apart from where the individual is named on the grant / fellowship application) must be advertised.

It is advisable to speak with your School HR Advisor at the start of the process, which can take up to 3 months to complete.
