Dietetics is a dynamic and essential field of healthcare focused on the science of food, nutrition, and their impact on health and wellbeing.

Dietitians are the only qualified health professionals who can assess, diagnose and treat nutrition-related issues at both an individual and wider public health level.

At the University of Reading, you can take the next step towards a career in dietetics through our HCPC-approved, BDA-accredited MSc Dietetics programme, combining clinical learning with expertise in nutritional research supporting Sustainable Diets for All.

Develop practical skills in world-class facilities

You’ll learn in state-of-the-art facilities including our Clinical Simulation Training Suite, a recreation of a four-bed hospital ward with specialist equipment, video link facilities, and consultation spaces designed to reflect real clinical environments. These facilities help you develop the practical skills and confidence needed for professional practice.

The facility is located on the University’s Whiteknights campus and has been designed in partnership with the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust (RBFT).

Explore nutrition research with global impact

The University of Reading is also home to the world-renowned Hugh Sinclair Unit of Human Nutrition (HSUHN).

The HSUHN is known internationally for research into the relationship between diet and the risk of chronic diseases, including cardiovascular disease, diabetes, neurodegenerative diseases, and cancer. Its clinical research informs the work of governments and the food sector.
