Dietetics is a dynamic and essential field of healthcare focused on the science of food, nutrition, and their impact on health and well-being.
Dietitians are the only qualified health professionals who can assess, diagnose and treat nutrition-related issues at both an individual and wider public health level.
Our MSc Dietetic programme offers postgraduate study that combines our clinical excellence with expertise in nutritional research supporting Sustainable Diets for All.
Our world-class facilities
You will learn in state-of-the-art facilities including our brand-new Clinical Simulation Training Suite which is a recreation of a four-bed hospital ward with specialist equipment, video link facilities, and consultation spaces.
The facility is located on the University’s Whiteknights campus and has been designed in partnership with the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust (RBFT) to replicate a typical ward found at the Royal Berkshire Hospital. Find out more about our facilities.
International acclaim
The University of Reading is also home to the world-renowned Hugh Sinclair Unit of Human Nutrition (HSUHN). The unit has an international reputation for its research into the relationship between diet and the risk of chronic diseases, including cardiovascular disease, diabetes, neurodegenerative diseases, and cancer. The HSUHN's clinical research informs the work of governments and the food sector.
