Shape the future of design with a BSc Architecture degree at the University of Reading
Our BSc Architecture programme, designed with industry input, prepares you for tomorrow’s architectural challenges. At Reading, we see architecture as more than creating buildings – it’s about reimagining spaces to inspire communities and drive positive change.
Our faculty combines professional experience with cutting-edge research. You’ll benefit from strong industry links, work on live projects, and will have the opportunity to attend field trips across the UK and abroad.
Our facilities are designed to inspire creativity and hands-on learning. Based at our London Road campus, our newly refurbished design studios, open seven days a week, mirror professional architectural offices. Our green campus provides a peaceful setting and a living test ground for models. Our museums offer rich sources of creative inspiration. You’ll have access to:
- the Ure Museum of Greek Archaeology
- the Cole Museum of Zoology
- and The Museum of English Rural Life.
Careers
Following graduation, you’ll be well-placed to further your training as an architect and complete your qualification with our two-year Master of Architecture (MArch). You can also pursue careers in graphic design, project management, interior design, set design, photography, and journalism.
Through our Industry and Practice module, you’ll gain professional insight. Reading’s career schemes, like Thrive and the RIBA mentoring programme, will help you build a strong network.
Professional Accreditation
Our BSc (Hons) Architecture degree is prescribed by the Architects Registration Board (ARB), meeting Part 1 of the requirements for professional architecture qualification. It is also validated by the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA), as a formal recognition of its high professional standards.
Scholarships
As part of the cohort joining the BSc Architecture course in 2026, you will have the opportunity to secure an annual £1,000 scholarship for each of your three years of the undergraduate degree.
