Biomedical Engineering
Biomedical Engineering is the application of engineering methods and approaches in healthcare and biology.
With 100% of our students saying that teaching staff are good at explaining things (National Student Survey, 2026), we’re committed to inspiring and training the future generation of biomedical engineers. Our students develop the knowledge and skills to design and develop technologies that diagnose disease at early stages, restore lost body functions and improve quality of life for patients and the elderly. From medical devices and health diagnostic systems to biocompatible prostheses, we explore innovative engineering solutions that address real-world healthcare challenges.
Our courses bring together 60 full-time expert academics, specialising in subjects such as electronics, physiology, robotics, genetics and more. We offer BEng and PhD degrees, so you can choose the level of specialisation you wish to pursue.
