Take the next step
I’m so glad I took the risk to study a master’s degree in a subject I have never done before. I'll have a Chartered Institute of Marketing accredited degree, which opens up so many doors. Thanks to my master's, I now know that marketing is the right career for me.
Conversion courses
You can study many of our master’s programmes even if you haven’t studied the same subject at undergraduate level, allowing you to explore a new area or change careers.
Some of our courses are specially designed to give you the essential skills and knowledge needed to qualify for a particular role or profession, such as our psychology conversion course, teaching qualifications, or programmes in construction management and engineering.
Programmes with industry experience
Some of our master’s courses combine academic knowledge with practical experience. These programmes typically include work experiences, internships, placements, applied research projects, or practical assignments with industry partners, to help you build sector-specific knowledge and expertise.
Professional accreditation
We offer several courses that provide professional accreditation, enhancing your career prospects and helping to make you more attractive to employers.
Accredited degrees have been assessed by a professional body, ensuring the course content is relevant and up to date. Successfully completing an accredited course will count towards a professional qualification or registration with an industry body.
When my children went to school, I decided to study archaeology. While investigating Reading, I discovered the flexibility and range of modules, as well as the department’s excellent reputation for research. I've achieved a good balance between family and study time.
Part-time and flexible programmes
At Reading, we recognise the need to study at your own pace or around work and personal commitments, and we have a wealth of experience and resources to help you succeed.
We offer more than 100 part-time and flexible modular programmes you can choose from.
Teacher training
Reading’s Institute of Education is one of the leading providers of teacher training in the UK. We work closely with over 400 well-established partner schools to train the next generation of outstanding teachers.
We offer PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education), QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) and EYTS (Early Years Teacher Status) qualifications in early years, primary and secondary teaching. You will need to specialise in a certain age group and/or subject area.
Architect training
Continue your architectural studies with our Master of Architecture (MArch) course, the second stage in becoming a qualified architect in the UK.
Our course is ARB prescribed until December 2028 and RIBA validated.
I studied music for my undergraduate degree but had been wanting to study psychology for a long time. Reading’s reputation, and the friendly interactions I had with staff before applying, made it the obvious choice for me.
