Student housing on the agenda at landlord forum
03 October 2024
The University of Reading and Reading Students’ Union is hosting an event to build stronger links between student renters and landlords.
The Landlord and Letting Agent Forum will be held at Reading Students’ Union in the Board Room, on the Whiteknights Campus at 1pm on Thursday 10 October, and is open to current and prospective landlords, letting agents, and those involved in student property management.
Organisers hope the event will strengthen relationships across the student housing sector and with the student community, with wider benefits for renters and housing across Reading.
The event will feature discussions on current trends in student housing, including industry specialist speakers, supporting landlords with the impact of new legislation, and strategies for creating better living environments benefiting both students and others living in Reading.
Jane Taylor, Housing Advisor at Reading Students’ Union, said: "We recognise the importance of maintaining a healthy and diverse rental market for our student population.
“By building strong relationships with landlords and letting agents, we can plan for the needs of our students and the wider community in Reading. This goes hand-in-hand with the positive work by students to be good neighbours and a force for good in the community.”
Landlord and Letting Agent Forums will be held twice a year at the Whiteknights campus.
