Reading in top 75 European universities – QS rankings

The University of Reading has been ranked at joint 73 in Europe in the second edition of the QS Europe University Ranking 2025, published today [10 July].
685 institutions across Europe are included within the new league table, placing Reading among the top 11%.
Reading is ranked at joint 27 in the UK, out of 103 institutions featured.
The University is ranked in the top 100 in Europe for the following metrics:
- Sustainability (30)
- Citations per paper (36)
- International student diversity (67)
- Employer reputation (79)
- International research network (88)
- International faculty ratio (94)
- Employer outcomes (98)
Dr Caroline Baylon, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (International) at the University of Reading, said: “It is fantastic to see the University of Reading once again recognised as among the top group of universities in Europe. We score highly for our international staff and student body, demonstrating the benefits of our strong global outlook across our campuses.
“We’ve seen great progress this year in our sustainability ranking, up 56 places from last year. Sustainability is something we take very seriously through our academic research and expertise and our desire to be one of the greenest universities in the world.”
The University of Reading is ranked at 172 globally, according to the QS World University Rankings 2025.
