University to host community forum and BBQ
22 May 2024
Local residents are invited to the University of Reading’s Summer Community Forum, taking place on Whiteknights campus on Thursday 13 June.
Hosted by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Robert Van de Noort, the event is an opportunity for residents to find out more about the University and Reading Student Union's community engagement, as well as share their feedback on activity in the local area.
For the first time, there will be a group-led panel discussion, with questions posed to the panel by the audience. The panel will consist of: University Vice-Chancellor, Professor Robert Van de Noort and representatives from Reading Borough Council, Wokingham Borough Council and Thames Valley Police.
Molli Cleaver, Community Engagement Manager at the University of Reading, said: “Our Community Forum events are growing in popularity and have proved to be a good way for the University to have direct engagement with our local residents, on issues which are important to them.
“Hosting events like this enables us to build stronger relationships with the local community, which in turn will lead to greater collaboration, and greater outcomes for all.”
The Summer Community Forum will take place in the Meadow Suite between 6-8.30pm. This free event includes a BBQ and refreshments and is open to anyone in the local community.
Registration is essential and tickets can be booked online. The full programme is also available to view online.
