Members of the community across Reading and beyond are now able to nominate University students, staff and alumni for their outstanding voluntary work.
The University of Reading’s Celebration of Volunteering is back for the second year running, and nominations for this year’s awards are being sought.
The Celebration of Volunteering brings together staff, students, alumni and community partners to award, showcase and celebrate those who have gone above and beyond to volunteer on campus or in their local community.
There are six award categories this year, with two new ones open for nominations. These include:
- Reading Students’ Union Project of the Year
- Student Volunteer of the Year
- Staff Volunteer of the Year
- Alumni and Supporter Volunteer of the Year
- NEW for 2024 - Students in Schools Volunteer of the Year
- NEW for 2024 - Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Staff Network Volunteer of the Year
The event, which takes place on Thursday 25 April, will also include an exhibition and series of videos showcasing the variety of exciting and impactful volunteering opportunities that colleagues, students, alumni and supporters are involved in.
Molli Cleaver, Community Engagement Manager at the University of Reading, said: “Last year’s Celebration of Volunteering event proved to be a huge success, highlighting the vast range of volunteering work undertaken by our staff, students and alumni community. It is great to be back again this year, with another chance to celebrate even more of the fantastic voluntary work that takes place in Reading and beyond.”
