Nominations open to celebrate University volunteers

People from across Reading and beyond are being asked to nominate University students, staff and alumni for their outstanding voluntary work.
The new Celebration of Volunteering event will bring together members of the University and community partners to reward, showcase and celebrate University of Reading people who give their time to make a difference on campus and in the local area.
The University, working in collaboration with Reading University Students’ Union (RUSU), is calling for nominations in six award categories:
- RUSU Fundraiser of the Year
- RUSU Community Project of the Year
- RUSU Student Project of the Year
- Staff Volunteer of the Year (on and off campus)
- Student Volunteer of the Year (on and off campus)
- Alumni and Supporter Volunteer of the Year
Nominations of staff, student or alumni volunteers can be submitted by anyone from the University or the local community.
Molli Cleaver, Community Relations Manager at the University of Reading, said: “The University is proud that so many people go above and beyond the call of duty through volunteering and we are excited to celebrate these individuals at this brand new event.”
Nominations are open until midnight on Sunday 5 March and can be submitted through an online form.
Celebration event
The event will be held at the University’s Whiteknights campus on Thursday 27 April.
It will include an exhibition and series of videos showcasing the wide variety of volunteering opportunities that colleagues, students and alumni are involved in.
