Award Winning Research: Heart Berkshire report that researchers from the University of Reading have won awards for their work regarding weather research, including national rainfall data from 1836.

Ancient weapons: A team at Reading found that a 300,000-year-old wooden stick is evidence that early humans were creating more sophisticated hunting weapons than thought. • Professor Hannah Cloke (Meteorology/Geography) is quoted in The Washington Post Online regarding the naming of dangerous heat events and how it could become a ‘useful tool’.
• Aljazeera and Inkl quote both Dr Akshay Deoras (Meteorology) and Hannah Cloke (Meteorology/Geography) on climate change causing extreme temperatures.
• Aol mention a quote from Dr Akshay Deoras (Meteorology), on how El Niño is still in early stages of development, and thus will affect global weather patterns. Also quoted in Times of India on low pressure monsoon’s travelling to west central India.
