#PlanetPartners: Reading's global work for a sustainable future
- The University has launched a campaign running 4-27 May showcasing examples of work institutionally and by colleagues to tackle global societal and environmental problems through support of the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals. The campaign is off the back of the recent published THE Impact Rankings and will highlight one of the 17 SDGs each day throughout May. - Research on rain enhancement, conducted by Dr Keri Nicoll and colleagues in Meteorology, is mentioned in My Science.
- Dr Ella Gilbert (Meteorology) was quoted in Carbon Brief and SciTechDaily about her research on showing the vulnerability of Antarctic ice sheets to collapse under different scenarios of global warming.
COVID-19: expert comment on the pandemic
- Dr Simon Clarke (Biological Sciences) spoke to LBC about lockdown easing; BBC Berkshire (3hrs 1 min in) about travel; and BBC Radio Sussex (2hrs 43 mins in) about research into new variants.
- The Street republished an article by Dr Uma Kambhampati (Economics) on the India COVID-19 crisis, originally published by The Conversation. Dr Kambhampati is also quoted on multiple news sites, including NBC San Diego and Press From.
- The Scotsman announces news that the University will be working in a research team to tackle the impact of global warming on cities.
