#PlanetPartners: Reading’s global work for a sustainable future
- The University has launched a campaign running 4-27 May showcasing examples of work institutionally and by colleagues to tackle global societal and environmental problems through support of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals. The campaign is off the back of the recent published THE Impact Rankings and will highlight one of the 17 SDGs each day throughout May. - Research on rain enhancement, conducted by Dr Keri Nicoll (Meteorology), is mentioned in an article by the University of Bath.
COVID-19: expert comment on the pandemic
- Dr Simon Clarke (Biological Sciences) is quoted in The Sun on infection rates and lockdown easing; spoke to talkRADIO about booster jabs; BBC Berkshire about COVID-19 variants; and BBC Hereford and Worchester about wearing masks after COVID-19 measures have been reduced.
- Reading research on recognising people wearing facemasks features on multiple news sites across the UK, including The Gazette Live.
- How Stuff Works republished an article by Dr Uma Kambhampati (Economics) on the India COVID-19 crisis, originally published by The Conversation.

- Yahoo and HuffPost reports on Nadim Shamma-Sourgen who at five has had a book of poetry published. Dr Yasmine Shamma (English Lit) who is Nadim’s mother is quoted.
