Yesterday, thousands of people around the world showed their stripes and shared the warming stripes created by Professor Ed Hawkins’ (Meteorology) on the summer/winter solstice. The story was widely covered, including news sites such as The Independent, Forbes, BBC Newsround and Head Topics. BBC Radio Berkshire mentioned the hashtag and Sky News spoke to Professor Hawkins about the stripes.
High profile organisations and individuals shared their stripes over the day, including Greta Thunberg, the World Meteorological Organisation, and the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change.

COVID-19: expert comment on the pandemic

Psychology centenary: Professor Carmel Houston-Price (Psychology) spoke to BBC Radio Berkshire about our School of Psychology and Clinical Languages celebrating their 100 years. In addition, Professor Stella Chan (Psychology) spoke to BBC Radio Berkshire about a new partnership between the University and Berkshire Healthcare about the launch of the Reading Resilience Network project.
