- IPCC Report
- Professor Ed Hawkins (Meteorology) is quoted about the publication of the UN’s IPCC report on climate change, on BBC News online, BBC News Channel, Financial Times, Sunday Times, LBC, Herald Scotland; and the International Business Times, and The Australian via Agence France Presse.
- Professor Richard Allan (Meteorology) is also quoted about the IPCC report, in the Guardian; and spoke to BBC Radio 5 Live.
- Professor Bill Collins and Professor Richard Allan (both Meteorology) were quoted on LBC Radio on how British weather is likely to be affected by climate change.

- Dr Ella Gilbert (Meteorology) spoke to BBC Radio 4’s Today Programme about how cycling more often can help cut emissions.
COVID-19: expert comment on the pandemic
- Dr Simon Clarke (Biological Sciences) is quoted in Sky News online, Independent, MSN News, and Daily Express about new variants and vaccine-developed immunity, and in Mail Online articles about neighbourhood vaccinations, the R number falling, case numbers rising. Dr Clarke was interviewed on Talk Radio about a potential end to lockdowns; Talk Radio about offering vaccines to younger teenagers.
New academic year: The Sunday Times and Mail Online report on universities planning to continue using a blend of online and in-person teaching for the new academic year. Two UoR students are quoted.
