Summary module description:
By the end of the Spring term students will be asked to choose their topic from a list of topics supplied by the Department. Students can also suggest their own topics, which are then subject to Departmental approval. Each student will be allocated a supervisor. Students analyse, synthesise and summarise information on their chosen topic in a way that is both sensible and clear to the reader. The work for this module will be completed after the Summer exams, with a hand-in date of 30th June, and a word limit of 3,500 words.
Aims:
To develop the skills of finding the available information on their chosen topic, and then analysing, synthesising and summarising this information in a way that is both sensible and clear to the reader. This will be done with a fixed time constraint. Students will improve their analytical and report-writing skills, learn how to structure their study, and how to place their findings in a wider context.
Assessable learning outcomes:
The aim of the applied project is to allow students to
- Increase their knowledge of a finance topic of their choice
- find the available information on their chosen topic,
- analyse, synthesise and summarise this information in a way that is both sensible and clear to the reader
