Summary module description:

A suite of skills sessions designed to help Flying Start students develop some key transferable skills prior to the start of their first PwC work placement.  Classes are designed and delivered by PwC in collaboration with ICAEW.

Aims:

To ensure students:

•    Are confident and prepared for the first PwC work placement

•    Have the requisite skills and knowledge to act with professionalism at PwC when working as part of a client facing team.

•    Develop key transferable skills which will be useful throughout the rest of the Flying Start programme and in employment in general.

 

Assessable learning outcomes:

By the end of the module students will be familiar with professional behaviours, ethics, time management, types of networking, different working styles, resilience, gathering feedback, personal brand, workplace culture, presentation skills and effective teams.

Module Introduction, Resilience, Gathering Feedback, Personal Brand and Workplace Culture, Teamworking and Presentation Skills and ICAEW ethics.

Brief description of teaching and learning methods:

This module will consist primarily of lectures with breakout group work and discussions to allow for reflection and self-evaluation.

Penalties for late submission:

The Support Centres will apply the following penalties for work submitted late: 

- Where the piece of work is submitted after the original deadline (or any formally agreed extension to the deadline): 10% of the total marks available for that piece of work will be deducted from the mark for each working day (or part thereof) following the deadline up to a total of five working days.

- Where the piece of work is submitted more than five working days after the original deadline (or any formally agreed extension to the deadline): a mark of zero will be recorded.
