Summary module description:

This module provides students with general and specific placement and employability related skills.


Aims:

To develop students' placement awareness, placement advice, introductory employment and placement application readiness (CV writing, peer support, application forms, career advice).


Assessable learning outcomes:

Students gain additional personal insight through personality tests (for career direction).



Mentoring and feedback in the application process.


Outline content:


  • Placement application journey and RED enrolment

  • Boosting your CV

  • What Placement can I do?

  • Gaining relevant work experience Part 1

  • Gaining relevant work experience Part 2 and advice from placement returners

  • CV workshop in a computer lab

  • Preparing for Placement search and applications, with advice from second year students

Sessions will be interactive and seminar styled.
