£p£Module code to indicate that a student has undertaken a period of Study Abroad at a partner institution as part of their single or joint honours Art degree.£/p£
Aims:
This module aims to enable students to study abroad at a partner institution for a term or semester to broaden their art-based knowledge, understanding and techniques.

Assessable outcomes
Participation on Study Abroad, including studying modules and accruing credit whilst abroad, is intended to inform and contribute to the credits and final mark awarded for either:
? FA2IS1 - Part 2I Studio (single Honour students on 4 year degree)
? FA2IS2 - Part 2I Studio (joint Honour students on 4 year degree)
? FA2SA - Part 2I Studio (single Honour students on 3 year degree)
dependent on pathway. The Art department will assess the work as part of the overall Studio assessment process which is yearlong.
Additional outcomes:
The module aims to encourage students to explore different global approaches to Art practice, to become more self-reliant and provides an opportunity to broaden their education and understanding of art through travelling, studying and experiencing the life and culture of another country.

Students will choose one from a range of partner universities; they will normally study for one semester or term, the precise duration varying upon the academic calendar of the Host University.

Participants undertake assessments in accordance with the standard arrangements in the Host University.

? The Module Convener will apply the following penalties for work submitted late, in accordance with the University policy:
o where the piece of work is submitted up to one calendar week after the original deadline (or any formally agreed extension to the deadline): 10% of the total marks available for the piece of work will be deducted from the mark for each working day (or part thereof) following the deadline up to a total of five working days;
o where the piece of work is submitted more than five working days after the original deadline (or any formally agreed extension to the deadline): a mark of zero will be recorded.

Assessment requirements for a pass:
Students are required to gain a pass mark for this module however, there are no formal assesments for this module due to credit transfer as the credits from the partner institution do not directly transfer back to the degree at Reading. However if the participant wishes to use the credits and transcript in the future then the pass requirements would be accordance with the standard arrangements in the Host University.
