YEAST IN GUT STUDY
Are you interested in gut health?
Yeasts are thought to play a role in the underlying causes of gut disorders, however, not much research has been done in this area. Understanding their presence and function in the gut will provide insight into their effects in health and disease. If yeasts are implicated in the symptoms that affect people with gut disorders on a daily basis, they could be targeted to potentially cure or treat gut disorders.
This observational study will assess yeasts and their function in the gut, comparing diseased subjects with healthy controls. The overall aim is to determine if yeasts could be targeted as a potential therapeutic for IBS and IBD to provide relief to sufferers as well as reducing the burden on healthcare systems.
