Codex Committee on Food Hygiene
31st Session, Orlando, United States, 26 – 30 October 1998
The Committee:
- agreed to advance to Step 8 the Draft Principles and Guidelines for the Conduct of Microbiological Risk Assessment;
- agreed to advance to Step 5 of the Accelerated Procedure the Draft Amendment to the General Principles of Food Hygiene;
- agreed to advance to Step 5 the Proposed Draft Code of Hygienic Practice for the Transport of Foodstuffs in Bulk and Semi-Packed Foodstuffs;
- agreed to return to Step 6 the Draft Code of Hygienic Practice for Packaged (Bottled) Waters (other than Natural Mineral Waters);
- agreed to return to Step 3 the Proposed Draft Code of Hygienic Practice for Milk and Milk Products;
- agreed to redraft and circulate at Step 3 the following texts:
- Proposed Draft Principles and Guidelines for the Conduct of Microbiological Risk Management
- Proposed Draft Code of Hygienic Practice for Primary Production, Harvesting and Packaging of Fresh Produce/Fruits and Vegetables
- Proposed Draft Code of Hygienic Practice for Pre-Cut Raw Fruits and Vegetables
- agreed to redraft the following discussion papers for consideration by the next session:
- Proposed Draft Guidelines for Hygienic Reuse of Processing Water in Food Plants
- HACCP in Small and Less Developed Businesses
- agreed to discontinue work on the following items:
- Broader Issues on the Application of Microbiological Risk Evaluation in International Food and Feed Trade
- Broader Application of the HACCP System
