Codex Committee on Cocoa Products and Chocolate (19th Session)
The Committee :
- Agreed to include a provision for the optionnal use of up to 5% of non-cocoa vegetable fats in the products covered by the Standard under specified conditions including informative labelling and methods of analysis;
- Agreed that the source of the non-cocoa vegetable fats should not be restricted;
- Agreed to advance the Draft Revised Standard for Chocolate and Chocolate Products for final adoption by the Codex Alimentarius Commission at its 25th Session (June 2003);
- Recommended the withdrawal of three existing Codex Standards covering the same products as the revised standard;
- Decided to adjourn sine die as it had completed its programme of work.
