Event Information
As generative artificial intelligence (AI) becomes more visibly ingrained in daily life, it is crucial that we all learn more about what it is and how it works.
The purpose of this public talk series is to promote generative AI literacy among those interested in/studying Classics who have previously avoided exploring the topic of artificial intelligence, and also to provide a platform for presenting the fascinating breadth of ways artificial intelligence and machine learning have been supporting research into the ancient world.
This public talk series is organized as part of the iGAIAS project in the Department of Classics at the University of Reading and the Distorted History: AI’s Skewed Visions of the Ancient World exhibition at the Ure Museum of Greek Archaeology. It is funded by an Ancient Worlds, Modern Communities Grant from the Society of Classical Studies.
