Event Information
The LGBTQ+ Travel Tool aims to provide a means for LGBTQ+ staff and students travelling internationally for work or education purposes, and their home organisations and institutions to ensure that the safeguarding of LGBTQ+ colleagues is at the forefront of any travel plans. You can access the tool via the The LGBTQ+ Travel Tool website.
The Wolfenden Seminar will introduce the LGBTQ+ Travel Tool developed by Dr Frances Hamilton (Associate Professor in Law, University of Reading) and Tahlia-Rose Virdee (PhD Student in Law, University of Reading), and will explore the lived experiences of LGBTQ+ academics when engaging in international travel which led to the creation of the tool, how the tool functions, and what our aims are for the tool.
The introduction to the LGBTQ+ Travel Tool shall be followed by a panel discussion with four colleagues who had contributed to the project: Seth Atkin (Equality Support Official - LGBT, University and Colleges Union), Dr James Greenwood-Reeves (Lecturer in Law, University of Leeds), Professor Richard Harris (Professor in Education Studies, University of Reading), and Dr Ruvi Ziegler (Associate Professor in International Law, University of Reading).
