Event Information
We all know what money is - but what if I told you that everything you knew wasn’t quite as it seems?
Join Professor Adrian Bell, Research Dean and Professor in the History of Finance, for this fun-filled session on money and how it has changed over time; from seashells to silver coins, to paper money, and now crypto currencies. We ask: What exactly is money? What's the cost-of-living? And why are both elements so important to our experience and survival in the modern world? Discover and explore answers with us!
The event will include lots of activities and interactive stories for youngsters to enjoy. With exciting giveaways for all and interesting coin artefacts on display from our Special Collections. Join us for an afternoon of lively learning, myth-busting money puzzles, and light-hearted entertainment at the University of Reading.
Admission is free - as is this joke: Where do polar bears keep their money? In a snow bank.
Booking essential, reservations on a first-come, first-served basis.
Suitable for children 7-12 years
