By this point you will have completed your 40 hours of activity between the ‘Acquire’ and ‘Act’ elements. You will now be required to demonstrate you are an ‘agent of change’ by advocating to others to undertake actions to support the United Nation Sustainable Development Goals.
You will be given two weeks to submit your ‘Articulate’ stage from the date you successfully submitted your activity log. If you have something planned to occur after this date please contact the RED team. We do not anticipate that his stage of the award should take any longer than one hour unless you would like it too due to the opportunity it personally provide you.
This could be via:
-
A blog post (minimum of 300-400 words) or video/podcast (minimum 3-4 minutes) on an outward-facing platform (this could be an external platform or a University page/platform)
-
Providing content for the University social media platforms (such as the main university platforms or the 'UoR student' platforms)
-
Speaking at in-person events such as conferences or at meetings within community groups (both internal and external to the University)
-
Spreading the word amongst peers on campus (e.g. organising and running a stand on campus)
This is not an exhaustive list and we encourage you to think of ways you could enable others to take action. If you would like to confirm your idea is eligible to complete this award please do contact the RED team. For all activities, it is your responsibility to ensure that you have asked for the appropriate permissions before you begin.
Final step to completing the award
At this stage you will have submitted your entry to demonstrate you have enabled others to hear about how they can be a more sustainable individual, demonstrating you are an ‘agent of change’. You will then be asked to complete a reflection and evaluation section on your ‘Pathway’ which is the final step to completing the RED Sustainable Action Award.
You will be guided through a selection of questions to enable you to reflect on how your learning has impacted you, to ensure that it is embedded, as well as support you to express your learning to future employment opportunities.
On successfully completing this final stage you will be awarded with your RED Sustainable Action Award, it will be added to your supplement annex and a digital certificate will be provided.
