Professional Placement Year

Timings: Placement students are traditionally available from June following the examination period. Our Placement year students must undertake a minimum of 40 weeks placement to qualify.
Assessment: Students will need to undertake some form of assessment to pass their placement year and their learning outcomes are defined by their course. This is usually a report, poster or presentation. All of this information will be shared with you so that you are comfortable with what the student is required to do.
Visit: Professional Placement year students will receive at least one visit from their Placement Tutor so that we can check how everything is going and ensure that our student is meeting their objectives and learning objectives.
Point of contact: Our Placement Coordinators will liaise with you to ensure a streamlined approach to the necessary paperwork and they will respond to any queries you may have at any point during the placement.
Salary: The average placement year salary for the South East is £19,000, although this does vary depending on location and sector.
