Description
Trade tokens were often issued in the late eighteenth century by merchants. They were used to trade during times of coin shortages but also for advertising purposes. This token was issued in 1795 in 'Bury', and features images and text on both sides. 'Payable at Charles Guests // Auctioneers // Bury' on one side and 'Going, a going // 1795' on reverse.
