Description
Trade tokens were often issued in the late eighteenth century by merchants. They were used to trade during times of coin shortages but also for advertising purposes. This token was issued in 1794 in Norwich, and features an image of a castle and 'Norwich Castle' on one side and the text 'GOOD TIMES WILL COME' around an image of a suspended sheep on the other side.
