Watching something change and grow with the passing of time provides comfort to those who believe that their lifestyle is static. The Royal Horticultural Society has worked with scientists to promote the benefits of gardening. // Physically working with natural materials can also be beneficial. It develops skills and encourages people to interact with the natural world. Even simple activities like sitting on a patch of grass and feeling the earth below you can be calming and reflective. // MERL 2008/97
