This is a glazed, stoneware jar with flattened shape. It has one handle but no stopper. The upper part of the jar has a brown glaze and the lower part is cream coloured. It has the inscription: 'PICKEN AND CO. // Wine and Spirit Merchants // PLYMOUTH'. The vessel was made by Melsom, a potter from Bristol.
