Description
A set of metal desk top scales and six weights made by W. & T. Avery Ltd of Birmingham. They were purchased by the Department of Agricultural Economics and Management at the University of Reading in the 1960s for use by Mr Robert Cook for research into the costs of inaccuracy in dispensing concentrates to dairy cows. Mr Cook was a member of staff at the University 1934–1977.
