Description
These are two decorative plates depicting agricultural implements, rural people and scenes in the centre. The rims are decorated with plants and leaves. The inscriptions on them include 'God speed the plough' and 'Industry produceth wealth'. There is also the inscription ' B and L Ltd, ENGLAND // FARMERS ARMS INDUSTRY PRODUCETH'.

2 plates: white glazed pottery; good conditionInscription on underside of each plate as follows: 'B. & L. Ltd., England; Farmers Arms - Industry Produceth Wealth; Let the wealthy and great roll in splendour and state, I envy them not I declare it. I eat my own lamb, my own chickens and ham, I shear my own fleece and I wear it. I have lawns, I have bowers, I have fruit, I have flowers, the lark is my morning alarmer. So jolly boys now, here's God speed the plough, long life and success to the farmer'.
