Description
This paraffin lamp was found in an apple store room in the farmhouse of Woodley Farm, Woodley, Berkshire. It has a reflector and bracket, and a single flat wick burner. It is painted blue.

MERL miscellaneous note, Greta Bertram, 22 August 2013 – Woodley Farm was in the possession of the Pither Family from the mid-nineteenth century until January 1982. The contents of the farm were sold at public auction on 16 April 1982., MERL 'Handwritten accession' form (Institute of Agricultural History) – ‘Description: paraffin lamp with reflector and bracket. The burner has a single flat wick. The metal supports for the glass chimney are broken. The wick winder is inscribed ‘British made’.
