These are two 2lb muslin bags used to package oats by White, Tomkins & Courage Ltd. They bear the inscription, 'WHITES WAFER OATS // WHITE, TOMKINS & COURAGE, LTD // BELFAST, LONDON & LIVERPOOL'. The back of the bags are printed with directions for making porridge out of the oats. The bags belonged to the donor's mother-in-law who had lived in Berkshire for fifty years.
