Description
Various milk cartons of different sizes and printed designs manufactured by Bowater Packaging Ltd. of Gateshead, Tyne & Wear. They are all cylindrical and are wider at the neck, than at the base. These came to the museum from Marks & Spencer, Baker Street, London.

4 milk cartons: wax coated card; good condition1) 1 pint capacity; printed in red on white background: 'Pasteurised Milk Homogenised'; reg'd trademark of Coronet at bottom; 17.5 x 6.5 cm [height x diameter at base]. 2) and 3) 1/3 pint capacity; printed in red on white background: 'School Milk, Pasteurised Milk Homogenised'; one has metal clip at top; 10.5 x 6.5 cm [height x diameter at base]. 4) 1/2 pint capacity; printed in blue on white background: 'Pasteurised Milk Homogenised'; reg'd trademark of Coronet at bottom; metal clip at top; 12 x 6.5 cm [height x diameter at base].
