Description
This is a candle cage, also known as a candle screen, which is a tin cylindrical cage with holes in, which you put the candle in, and a small handle for carrying around. This came to the museum as part of the Sharp collection.

1 cage: metal (Tin); good condition but slight corrosion
Archival history
The Sharp Collection of agricultural and dairying equipment was compiled by Reverend C. J. Sharp at Wonersh, Surrey. Reverend Sharp died in 1967 and the Museum acquired the Collection for £60 in 1968., MERL ‘Handwritten Catalogue’ form - ‘CAGE // Lighting Candle and Rush // SHARP COLLECTION // Tin- Base- circular stand for candle 8cm [pencil drawing].’
